PUTERA MIC

NEGERI SEMBILAN – TOWARDS 3G LEADERS

Yoga Ban?

yogaYoga Ban?
Are we living in dark ages?

Yoga has been proven scientifically to be benefit for human being, and has been a a “most wanted ” practise in US and European countries ,and out of suddent it has been a ‘HARAM’ practise in Malaysia?
I dont see any relevence here …

Yeah , I know its all up to Majlis Fatwa to decide on Muslim’s affairs but , pleasez dont use the word ‘HARAM’ to address this matter, its too harsh for Hindu ‘ears’ , why not use other words like ‘not suitable’ instead.

My personal agenda is ; please use correct word when it involves sensitive issues ( religion )

My question is ; what else is goin to be ‘HARAM’
       – Karate
: For saying ‘aii’, ‘hui’…maybe or mayb for lifting ur leg above your head and exposing your ‘AURAT”
       – Mathematics
: Why not ban mathematics in terms of the number system we use? Also the decimal system and the
number ‘zero’. Its found by an Hindu in India.
       – Burning of incense sticks
: Since Muslim neighbours can smell the incense burning smell
       – Chappati
: Maybe the making of Chapati with the wodden roller is ‘worshipping’ the chappati, so its ‘HARAM’

Dear Fatwa Law Maker : Read this carefully :
1.Can you stop Muslim’s from gambling at Toto , Da Ma Cai and Magnum?

2.Smoking has been haram in Selangor, Perlis ,Kedah,Penang and Sarawak for more than
10 years, and yet none of our Malay smoker friends/colleagues have given up smoking
infact ustaz is smoking the ‘HARAM’ cigaratte

Please, we already had so many fractions in our community, dont make it worst.
Lets it be personal’s intrest in deciding Yoga practise

MIC Election

MIC Election
Source : http://msaravanan68.blogspot.com

By now, many would have known what is happening in the MIC, politically I ( Dato’ V.Saravanan ) mean. The presidential election would be held in late Feb or March, while election for other positions would be in September.

Party president Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu would seek re-election. Datuk Muthupalaniappan from Seremban has voiced his intention to fight the president’s post.
No other leader has announced their intention to contest for posts and that includes myself ( Dato’ V.Saravanan ). Three days ago, Tamil Nesan ran a front page story saying that I ( Dato’ V.Saravanan ) could be going for the party number two post — deputy president — in September and I issued a denial the very next day.

I ( Dato’ V.Saravanan ) have not even thought of what post to contest as I ( Dato’ V.Saravanan ) find that the party polls are still ten months away and it is not time to start talking about politics or positions.

The bigger task at hand is getting work done. There are so many things to do and this is my priority presently. Let positions come to me rather than me fighting for positions, just eight months after winning a parliamentary seat and becoming a deputy minister.
Some might say that a politician has to be ambitious and criticise me for taking this stand.

The people, or rather in this case, MIC members and delegates should be my judge and jury. If they find me to be a worthwhile leader then by all means, I would take their advice and support. Only after this can I decide what I want to do with my political career.

My mission for now is to serve the people and let them decide what and where I should sit. I would not lobby for posts and if the public think I am not worth-the-while then it is better for me not to contest. I do not want to be known as someone, who just warms a particular seat in the party.
I ( Dato’ V.Saravanan ) want to be known as someone who brought change to the community and Malaysians at large.

Antara Politik Berasaskan Kaum dan Politik Perkauman

Antara Politik Berasaskan Kaum dan Politik Perkauman

Writer : Dr. Mohamad Khir Toyo
Salam sejahtera para sahabat bloggers sekalian,

Skills Course for Minimum SPM Scorers

Skills Course for Minimum SPM Scorers

Opportunity has knocked again at the doors of Indian youths who have just passed with minimum scores in SPM. This time around Ministry of Finance has allocated another RM3million to train young Indians. Through this allocation nearly 500 Indian youths can go through various industrial courses and will surely have a bright future ahead of them.
On 21 June 2008, the first round of registration of new students took place at Evertronics Ipoh. 25 students have registered for Mechatronics and multimedia courses. A total of 50 places have been allocated. The next level of registration will be held from 22 – 27 June 2008. Ever since the budget has been approved by the Economic Planning Unit (EPU) and the Ministry of Finance (MOF), YSS has been recruiting youths to various skills training Institutes run by government and private institutions.

At Evertronics alone a total of 215 students have been enrolled under the government sponsorship scheme with the help of dedicated volunteers, we run regular and systematic programs for the students. At Evertronics we conduct weekly meetings with the student leaders, regular religious and character development classes. To add on we also provide one to one counselling session for those in need of moral support and close supervision.

On a monthly basis the team also conducts home visits to meet the students’ parents. Through this interaction we are working hard to unlock the inner abilities and help these students to discover their potentials for them to succeed in live.

Our hard labour is not in vain as we have planted the seed of good values, confidence, positive mind set and positive character. The first batch of 65 students who came in last year has shown tremendous changes in their behaviour and character. All of them have indicated their interest to further their training to diploma level and want to make their family members proud of them.

These groups of students have been marginalized due to their poor result and their ‘tidak apa’ (couldn’t care less) attitude prior to their enrollment into this sponsorship programme. The YSS method of identifying these students and providing the necessary training and counselling has helped them to be out of their strongholds in order to plan towards a bright future.

YSS is impressed with the changes and the enthusiasm shown. This group of youths needs just a little push and encouragement. This is something I’ve read in a book, which says that the door of opportunity is always marked PUSH.

Fatwa On Yoga

Fatwa On Yoga

The National Fatwa Council on Saturday banned Muslims from practising yoga, causing an uproar among certain quarters, including Muslims.

The Malaysian Consultative Council of Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Sikhism and Taoism was however more concerned about the word “haram” that was used in the ruling then the ruling itself.

Datuk A. Vaithilingam, the Hindu Sangam President said that using the word “haram” in barring Muslims was uncalled for. He said that in a multiracial, multi-religious country, the fatwa council should be more sensitive in its choice of words. “Instead, they should used words like ‘unsuitable‘ for Muslims. The word ‘haram’ should have been avoided”, he said. (source NST).

Datuk A. Vaithilingam is right. The Fatwa Council could have been more sensitive in its choice of words. Perhaps the Fatwa Council saw a legal distinction between the word “haram’ and ‘unsuitable’. Maybe my Muslim friends can educate me on this.

Yoga is a treasure trove bequeathed to us by our Hindu ancestors and we are willing to share it with all. This is one the many ways where we Malaysians from different cultural and religious background can learn from and enrich one another. If the National Fatwa Council wishes to draw a line and rule that it is unsuitable for our Muslim Brothers and Sisters, we respect that edict and let our Muslim Brothers and Sisters to deal with it; if they have a problem with the fatwa.

Be that as it may, as a Hindu and a one time practitioner of yoga ( the real one under Divine Life Society, Petaling Jaya Sub-Branch – not the ‘spiced-up’ one currently making its round at our local gyms), this is what I have to say – Let them have their fatwa, its their loss, not ours.

The National Fatwa Council has the right to rule over what a Muslim should or should not do. Lets not get emotional about the fatwa without looking at it from their point of view as well.

We should look at look at the common traits that binds us as Malaysians instead of what separates us. We are after all a Nation that embrace our similarities and celebrate our differences.

Putera MIC calls for donations from the public

Putera MIC calls for donations from the public

THE Putera MIC has launched a book donation drive campaign to upgrade the libraries in Tamil schools nationwide.

“We aim to collect 5,000 books and distribute them to at least one Tamil school in each state,” said the Putera MIC national coordinator P. Kamalanathan. The campaign will run till the end of this year and the books will be delivered to the respective schools by the beginning of next year.He said there was a serious need for good books in Tamil schools.
“We want to help within our means. Since we can’t afford to give them tables and chairs, we are trying our best to help in our own way,” he said.

According to Kamalanathan, eligible schools who request for the book aid will be given priority. He urged the public to donate unused school books and other relevant reading materials like encylopaedias, dictionaries or even religious or language-based books.
“For those who have Mandarin books or Islamic religious books, you can donate it as well and we will hand it over to Chinese or the Malay schools that need it,” Kamalanathan added.
The Putera MIC website has details of drop off zones around the country. However if the donors have difficulty bringing the books to the zones, Putera MIC members are willing to pick them up.

Confused Pakatan Rakyat

Chronicle of Events from a confused Pakatan Rakyat.

1.MCA wants 30 percent bumiputera equity in public-listed companies to be abolished.

2.But PAS and ABIM ( Anwar’s boys? ) WARNS not to stir hornets nest by abolishing Bumi’s rights. PAS Youth chief Salahuddin Ayub said that the 30-percent equity must be retained and defended “even if the target has been reached!
3. DAP slams PAS.
4. Datuk Sri Anwar Ibrahim says nothing.
I wonder how long they are going to do this same ‘ol’ thing again and again!. Let me quote an article written by Mr.Baradan Kuppusamy in THE STAR.
This clearly shows PAS is not as confused as I think. They were never confused with their stand. They are just bunch of good actors I would  say. In front of Indians they would say “Valghe Makkal Sakthi,Equal Rights for Everyone!” , infront of Malays they say ” Long Live DEB! The economy pies is ours and ours only!!”
Now , who is doing SANDIWARA? Now , who is playing the race cards? Now, who is being RACIST?
